The site opened around 1900 as the Stadt Pilsen restaurant, became a youth recreation centre in 1926 and has housed the Italian cultural circle since January 1949, with a full rebuild in 1999. Its programme has included a free-entry dance night with the group Anelidi and a three-night Ferragosto run of theatre, a DJ set, a classical concert and an Italian film screening.
