Pula Transport

Pula Airport stands at Valtursko polje, Ližnjan, about 5 km from the city centre according to the Istria and Pula tourist boards. Rental companies have desks in the arrivals area and the main hall of the terminal, taxis wait outside by the bus stop, the airport runs its own shuttle bus to Pula bus station, and private transfer firms meet pre-booked passengers as they come out.

Driving into the centre needs a plan. The old-town core is residents-only parking and its pedestrian zones are closed by bollards, the paid public car parks are run by Pula Parking in zones, and Karolina, between the Arena and the Riva, is the only enclosed car park in the centre. Heading out, the Istrian Y motorway begins at the Pula junction and runs north towards Rovinj, Umag and Rijeka.

For shorter distances, scooters, e-bikes and quads are hired from desks by the Arena and from shops in Fažana, Medulin and Premantura, several of which deliver, and the bike shops plan their longer routes out to Cape Kamenjak.
