Health and beauty in Pula starts at the chemist, with county-run pharmacies, a night-duty branch and owner-run shops stocking dermocosmetics and supplements.
Visitors holding a valid European Health Insurance Card can use Istrian public health services on the same terms as Croatian insured patients, according to guidance published by the county's public pharmacy network. That network, Istarske ljekarne, runs branches in the city and in Fažana, Medulin and Vodnjan, and further up the coast in Buje, Umag and Novigrad.
In the city centre, the branch on Giardini covers night duty every day. Beyond prescriptions, the shelves carry special-purpose cosmetics, dermocosmetics, vitamins and supplements, and owner-run pharmacies add free skincare treatments, vitamin and mineral checks and preparations made up to order.
